red leaves

Red leaves live for the first time anywhere, ever. Ever. Ever.  One of red leaves has a sulk in a darkened room.

Red Leaves always were a band out of time.   They sort of shuffled together at school and outgrew various names until a lowly pensioner's cul-de-sac in the not-at-all-mysterious Waltham Chase bestowed the name on them at the end of a very successful night's drinking.  Various singers, drummers and dogsbodies came and went (chronicled in a fake Rock Family Tree somewhere) but the core members of Charlie, Will and Simon always kept the faith smouldering in a corner somewhere.  1996 saw the end of their first year at their universities and the purchase of a four-track portastudio (didn't student loans seem reasonable the first time you saw them?).  This set up the summer as a long riot of more drinking, watching crap telly and writing songs about the weather, culminating in the recording of the album "Kaleidoscope" in six days.  It was to be released for the world to see, but some bloke lost the master DAT.  Bastard.  Remixed, remastered and reissued for (and by) Tbilissi Recordings, we hope that someone will recognise that beneath the tape hiss lies a few nice tunes.
